Mai Taniyama (???? ????, Taniyama Mai) =A 16 year-old orphan and first year high school student who temporarily fills in as an assistant for SPR to repay her debt when she accidentally injures Naru's regular assistant, Lin, and breaks a camera that was being used in an investigation of an old building at Mai's school
Kazuya Shibuya (?i?? ????, Shibuya Kazuya) =A paranormal researcher and the handsome 17 year-old president of the SPR, Shibuya Psychic Research. His nickname "Naru" is short for "narcissist", given to him by Mai.
Lin Koujo (?? ?d??, Rin Kōjo) =Originally from Hong Kong. He is Naru's calm and taciturn assistant who rarely speaks more than he needs to. He appears to be an onmyoji and has a wide range of paranormal skills from exorcism to summoning spirit familiars.
Houshou Takigawa (???? ????, Takigawa Hōshō)=A 25 year old hakkaisou, a Buddhist monk who has left his position.
Ayako Matsuzaki (???? ?c??, Matsuzaki Ayako) =A 23 year old outspoken, self-styled Shinto miko, or priestess.
John Brown (・W・・・・·・u・・・E・・, Jon Buraun)=A nineteen year old caucasian Catholic priest from Australia who learned to speak Japanese with a Kansai accent.
Hara Masako (?? ??????, Hara Masako)=A spirit medium with a popular television show and the ability to speak to the dead, Masako is a 16 year old girl who resembles a Japanese doll because she is always wearing a kimono, even while sleeping.
Osamu Yasuhara (???? ??, Yasuhara Osamu) =A 3rd year top-ranked high school student and president of his school's student council.
Basic Story:
Anime starts with Mai telling ghost stories to her two friends. When they are scared by a male named Naru who is a paranormal researcher, they learn he runs Shibuya Psychic Research. He has been hired by the school principle to investigated the alleged haunted school. Mai ends up working for Naru when she accidently hurts his assistant. She gives him the nickname because she feels he is a narssist and arrogant.
The principle is skeptical of Naru being he is young so he hires a monk, shrine maiden, catholic priest, a psychic. A young girl also says she is attacked by a ghost and its because of the girls telling ghost stories. Mai starts to feel guilty that they have indeed done this.
Suspense full anime. Great story and well done keeps you intrigued wanting to know more. Dont actually see the ghost keeps you wondering. The group is all suspicous of each other.
